đź’ˇDBpedia Enterprise and its product DBpedia Live Fusion is coming soon.
dbpedia.io will be the place for APIs and Linked Data and SPARQL, but at the moment it redirects here.
What Is DBpedia Live Fusion?
DBpedia Live Fusion is a continuous integration pipeline for Knowledge Graphs. It continuously merges structured data from multiple sources — including Wikipedia, Wikidata, and beyond — into a unified, up-to-date, and high-quality Knowledge Graph.
Think of it as a Data Operating System: it pulls in distributed data, maintains a hot cache, deduplicates, validates, and exposes a consistent, ready-to-use interface.
Roadmap and Vision
Community On-Boarding
DBpedia Enterprise is built around an Open Core business model with a firm open data tradition and loyalty to its community roots. We will continue the tradition of publishing the previous DBpedia datasets under the same open license (CC-By-Sa). In the coming months, we will build a symbiotic system together with the DBpedia community, that will consolidate and properly grow the open assets in and around DBpedia. These include:
- Improving the Wikipedia/Wikidata extraction and increasing data quality of the DBpedia core.
- Connecting with other Open Knowledge Graph Projects to form a “co-evolution partnership & network” to incubate knowledge graphs, maintain links, mappings and cross-validate data, resulting in cleaner data for everybody. A focus will be to create a well-maintained Knowledge Graph Catalog on the DBpedia Databus.
- Connecting with RDF tool providers to increase maturity and interoperability of tools around the Knowledge Graph Catalog.
DBpedia Enterprise will become a custodian and stakeholder of these open community assets and will use them to generate industrial value on-top: fused and customized datasets plus tooling and hosting plus support and convenience.
Outreach and Presentation
We reached essential technological milestones and are now turning our focus slowly towards outreach:
- Adding better description and docu on dbpedia.org
- Posting regular updates to blog and newsletter
- Creating a dedicated page at dbpedia.io
Extending the DBpedia Live Fusion with more Data
- At the moment, we only use EN DBpedia as a source, the goal is to use over 100 Wikipedia languages to fuel the fusion.
- Adding public, well-maintained knowledge graphs from the LOD cloud.
- Converting and adding datasets for specific domains.
- Building interfaces to debug linking and mapping.
Live API
Input source loading has live capability, but is not live. We developed and tested reading from Wikipedia Server-Sent Events (SSE) and OAI-PMH, but we are using Wikimedia Dumps to load the hot cache. This means thatsource data can refresh faster than the actual output, i.e. the fusion snapshot dump. We plan to implement a live API, that exposes the internal live data directly.
