This year we are partnering again with the SEMANTiCS, an established knowledge hub which brings together technology professionals, industry experts, and researchers to exchange knowledge regarding new technologies, innovations, and enterprise implementations in the fields of Linked Data and Semantic AI. The DBpedia Day is part of the conference and will be held on the first day of SEMANTiCS 2026 on the 15th of September in Ghent, Austria.

Keynote
Keynote: “More Than Data: Making Knowledge Graphs Work Together for Actionable Insights” by Ricardo Usbeck, Leuphana University Lüneburg
abstract: While large language models (LLMs) have driven remarkable progress in natural language processing, their application in high-stakes, dynamic environments remains constrained by limited factual grounding, interpretability, and user trust. To address
these fundamental challenges, our research group (https://www.leuphana.de/aix) investigates the neuro-symbolic integration of state-of-the-art language models with a multitude of dynamic knowledge graphs. By anchoring generative architectures in structured,
continuously updated real-world facts, we enable AI systems to predict supply chain reliability or the trajectories of natural disasters. This keynote will highlight our recent contributions to the deployment of domain-specific, autonomous AI agents for crisis
management and supply chain resilience. Drawing on insights from the COYPU, PROVIDER, and RescueMate projects – where robust, real-time event extraction from heterogeneous global data streams is critical – this talk will show how only a collection of integrated
Knowledge Graphs can provide the verifiable ground truth necessary to deploy autonomous AI in environments where failure is not an option.
